New schools join BRIDGE School Partnerships Program

Thirty new schools have joined the ASEAN-Australia BRIDGE School Partnerships Program, bringing the program to 86 schools.

For the first time, schools from the ACT and Tasmania have joined the program, expanding its reach across Australia.

The BRIDGE Program builds partnerships between Australian and Southeast Asian teachers, students and school communities, giving educators opportunities share knowledge, build skills and learn from each other.

As part of the program, teachers complete a 9-month online professional learning program, virtual collaborations and in-country visits. In 2027, Australian educators will travel to Southeast Asia for week-long visits to their partners, and Southeast Asian educators will travel to Australia for visits to their partner schools.

Head of the ASEAN-Australia Centre, Fiona Hoggart, said people-to-people connections are at the heart of the BRIDGE Program.

‘BRIDGE invests in our young people and our future leader leaders, building connections between Australia and Southeast Asia,’ said Fiona.

The new partnerships will create more opportunities for learning and exchange between Australia and Southeast Asia.
